Albert Pritchard died from unknown causes on 1st August,1918, while a prisoner of war in Germany. The 9th East Surrey battalion was part of 72 Brigade, 24th Division which had arrived in France in September 1915 and had been engaged in most of the major campaigns on the Western Front since then but It is not known when he became a prisoner. |
